Friday

We took Toby to the Dunedin Community Center for a walk around the lake.

We found Dexter's old treat bag that we used to train him on walks. It's handy to have by the door with the leash. We hadn't used it for years. In fact, I don't ever remember using it with Dee Dee. We let Dexter train her--for better or worse.

We dropped Toby's medical records from his surgery and last vaccinations at our vets this morning and headed to the locally owned pet store on Main Street. We bought a new bag of food and a new toy--a shark!

Obviously, he loved it. He's losing his baby teeth, so it didn't take long for him to have blood all over the shark, making it look very authentic. He's not supposed to be running or jumping, but . . .

We had dinner with new friends down the street, COVID-19 style. We brought our own place setting and drinks, showed up with our masks and a side dish, and ate outside, poolside. It's good to learn how to go on with life safely. It was just the four of us and we sat at different tables six feet apart while we ate and talked. The food was delicious and the house was really beautiful. We got lots of decorating ideas. They had renovated the kitchen, two bathrooms, the laundry room, and added a pool and enclosure. The floors in the house were terrazzo and had been restored. The style was modern and clean, very tasteful.

We were a little anxious leaving Toby two days after his surgery, so John set up a Zoom meeting so we could watch him while we were away. Toby had to wear his E-collar and stay in his crate. He was pretty good. He got anxious a couple of times but settled back down. It helped when we remembered to mute ourselves so he couldn't hear us talking. (duh!)

He was happy to see us when we returned.

  1. The zoom surveillance was genius. Glad you had a great evening with friends.
