We rode our bikes south for today after lunch. We rode through Clearwater, Belleair, stopped at Taylor Lake in Largo, and then continued on to the city of Seminole's city park, about 17 miles from our house in Dunedin. The Seminole park is directly off the Pinellas Trail. It's a great gathering spot for Ibises, apparently, as you can see in the photo above. My favorite thing about the park is that it has chilled water.
There is also a history museum adjacent to the park.
The trail marker announces the town of Seminole ahead.
On the way to Seminole, we stopped at Taylor Lake in Largo and rode around the perimeter. We didn't see any alligators this time and wonder if they had been removed after that man had his face bitten retrieving a frisbee from the lake at 2:00 a.m. (There's a frisbee course along one side of the lake.)

Today's Biking Route
We rode 33.5 miles in just under 3 hours round trip. That includes a leisurely ride around Taylor Lake and through the city park in Seminole.
This is the Pinellas Trail looking south, from downtown Dunedin today. The weather was beautiful. It was 87 degrees at the hottest point on the ride. The wind was blowing 9 mph. Somehow, we rode into the wind on the way down and on the way back! I rode my mechanical bike, so I got lots of exercise.

This morning, we walked the causeway from 8:30 to 10:00. The temperature started out at 77 degrees and got up to 82 before we headed to Publix for grocery shopping.
These two great egrits are hoping to scavenge for leftovers after the fisherman casts his net for bait fish. The egrits are pretty smart. Why work so hard catching them one at a time when you can eat at the buffet?
The New York Times reported this evening that the CDC last month wrote an order "requiring all passengers and employees to wear masks on all forms of public and commercial transportation in the United States, but it was blocked by the White House." The White House Coronavirus Task Force refused to even discuss it.
Wearing masks is one of the most effective ways to protect the public when social distancing cannot be practiced or when ventilation is poor.
Miles walking: 7.5
Miles biking: 33.5
