We rode out to Honeymoon Island this afternoon. This is North Beach with the new sand. Fred didn’t seem to take too much sand with him as he passed by.
Almost all of the beach above is new sand.
Fred took a bite here.
Finally, the water is starting to clear up from the Red Tide.
We had the beach to ourselves on Tuesday afternoon.
That tree in the middle of the picture above marked the previous water’s edge. The tree was half dead when the project began, but it’s looking like it may live.
Wide, wide beach. For now, anyway.
John began a project to remove this shrub.
He started in the middle!
He says it’s our Halloween bush. He filled up our yard waste bins and once emptied he’ll continue the project. Our long range goal is to remove most of the landscaping and start over with a professional. For now, Masfina cuts everything back once a month.
Toby has had a very good day. He’s walked, fetched, done his brain exercises, run beside John’s Terra Trike on a leash, worked on his training commands from week one and two, and napped at least twice. We’ve managed to have two conversations with neighbors without him jumping on us to hurry up. The trick is to get him to sit and them feed him treats until we walk again. He will eventually have good thoughts about stopping when he’s a bit more mature. The trainer made us feel much better about this by explaining that he’s just bored—completely normal puppy behavior.
We ran into his friend Freddy this morning who is about 9 months, similar mutt breed. His owner was complaining about his new behavior of jumping on her, nipping her hands, and ripping her clothes. I turned around to show her my ripped shorts. Puppies! She invited us over for the dogs to play in her fenced-in yard.
We finished up John’s awesome crockpot chicken and green beans.
Toby got a little fussy around six, so we took him for a walk around Lake Saundra. He settled down after that.
