Friday

After lunch, we drove to Weaver Park with Toby and then walked downtown. It was 75 degrees and beautiful. People were everywhere. We headed to Pioneer Park where there was a arts and craft festival and live music. We sat on the grass with Toby.

The singer came down from the stage to sing to Toby.

Toby was intrigued.

After a pit stop, we headed to the Marina Park via Main Street. Toby got lots of practice passing people and dogs and sitting at intersections. Several people petted him, which is good.

We walked back to Weaver Park via Victoria Drive.

We passed a wrecked sailboat.

John had his annual physical last week and had his blood work done. He got his results back today: everything was normal, and his cholesterol was an amazing 165. We eat the same thing, so one would think mine would be low too, right? It never is. My appointment is still a month away.

We’re still enjoying our smoked chicken from the neighbors.

The morning began in the 40s, but it warmed up quickly. By the time we got to the causeway to walk, it was already 55 degrees and 65 when we finished. It was so good to feel the warm sun.

John got this picture of a rat in our backyard. They are attracted to citrus trees, which is why we got rid of our papaya trees.

I hope this one is just passing through, but the reality is that they are as plentiful as squirrels here. Normally, they are active at night. People call them squirrels without fluffy tails.
