For last night’s party, John made a fancy fruit platter. We forgot to take a picture of the finished product. There were strawberries and grapes pouring out of the melon.
The party was outside by the pool, so we had to wear long pants and long sleeves. Everyone was triple vaxed.
The birthday boy is in the center background, former banker with the Federal Reserve, born in Belize. The guy behind my back is head of IT international for Walmart. They are from Arkansas. The woman in the center was the hostess and reminded me of my sister. She and her husband are from Maryland. She sells whiteboards.
From left to right: our nearby neighbors from Ohio. He’s a retired engineer. His wife is to the right. She's a retired accountant and current artist. She sells her art in one of the downtown shops. Of the 13 people present, they’ve been in Florida the longest: 8 years. The woman next to her is the birthday boy’s wife. She's a retired real estate agent. They moved in the same year we did. She is from New York via Texas. The next woman is the Walmart executive’s wife. The man next to her is the host, not sure what he did, but he’s retired. They’ve been here about as long as we have. Not pictured: our retired neighbors behind us from Kentucky who have been here 7 years and their young neighbors who just moved in.
We decided that our neighborhood is so friendly because most people are new and don't have any friends yet. Being retired, as many are, gives people lots of free time, too.
Toby wanted some attention this morning while I tried to work on this blog.
Fruit bowl lunch: yogurt, cantaloupe, peach, strawberry, avocado, cherry, raspberry, blueberry, and cottage cheese
Juice: OJ, mango, raspberry seltzer water
It finally warmed up after lunch: 79 degrees. This morning’s early walk was 49 degrees.
On our last walk, we talked to a neighbor about his new boat. He showed us the Ford V8 and then started it up for us. It was very loud.
Pretty boat though.
Miles walked: 8
Miles biked: 0
