Saturday

We began our causeway walk this morning when the temperature was in the upper 60s and ended it when it was in the upper 70s. Beautiful morning! I’m wearing one of my new shirts from Beall’s.

A couple asked us where our dog was as we passed them. They usually see us walking Toby in the neighborhood. We explained that he was home napping, having already had his walk. She said she recognized John because of his hair. We hear that a lot.

After lunch, we took Toby on his second walk of the day. He had to do a dance in the grass on his back first.

I can’t blame him. It was 82 degrees and it felt so good to be outside.

After the walk, we put Toby in his crate and rode our bikes downtown. I counted four live bands and two festivals, one more festival being set up. People and bikes everywhere. And it was only mid-afternoon. We rode on to Stevenson Creek and then left the trail to ride up Edgewater Park back to Dunedin. We passed the new condo under construction.

Edgewater Park across from the condo. St. Joseph’s Sound beyond.

Clearwater Beach in the distance

The Fenway Hotel is setting up for a beer festival. The rooftop bar is always a popular spot—especially for sunsets.

We rode off into the grass to avoid walkers whenever we could.

The Marina Park had live music and booths for food and trinkets.

On the way home, we turned on Michigan to see the new peace pole at the Dunedin Community Center, the second one in the city. The other one is at Weaver Park.

There are over 200,000 peace poles in the world.

Toby has had lots of naps today. He’s been pretty good today. He brought both bath mats to the living room, but not with his usual zeal. He dropped them and just looked at us.

Today’s bike route downtown, Stevenson Creek, and Edgewater Park
