Sunday

The high temperature today was 85 degrees. To minimize Toby’s sun exposure (and ours), we took Toby to the shaded community center for his afternoon walk. This change signals the beginning of our summer walking routine. The shot above is John’s new t-shirt with the Florida state flag and a fish or two.

It was a picture perfect day.

After our morning causeway walk and lunch, I rode my bike to Weaver Park to exercise. Since our Mondays are so busy, I thought I’d try a Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday schedule. I had the place to myself most of the time.

The Pinellas Trail was busy. I imagine with high gas prices it may get busier than usual.

The causeway was beautiful this morning. There were fewer people than normal for a Sunday.

John contributed the morning causeway photos and this water tower picture to show their progress.

It was 70 degrees at 8:30 so we rode our bikes to the causeway. There was a 12 mph breeze to keep us from being hot. But it made the bike ride home a workout.

Today’s bike routes to the causeway and Weaver Park

I read that the baseball strike is messing up spring training plans for several small towns in Florida. Dunedin just finished renovating its stadium when COVID hit in 2020. Now the strike has pushed back training here. They may be able to do it in April, but the snowbirds will have left by then. Lots of cancellations going on. The city will lose a once a year windfall.

Miles walked: 9.5
Miles biked: 11.6
