Tuesday

John got this shot of the tortoise being painted as I drove down Curlew heading to the causeway after dropping off Toby at daycare.

The temperature was 70 degrees +/- a few degrees from the beginning to the end. Perfect conditions for walking. Sunny and breezy.

The humidity was low so we could see for miles.

After lunch, we picked up Toby. He got an hour nap in a crate, so he was a bit calmer than usual when we picked him up. The escort said he was not peeing anymore when being placed in the crate or when his harness is being put on. Apparently, he’s gotten used to the routine and isn’t scared. Or else they’ve learned to approach him slowly and gently. He doesn’t like any sudden moves, especially when it involves being touched. Maybe he’s autistic?

I rode my bike to Weaver Park to exercise. I had the place to myself until two women and their kids came over from the playground. They were all speaking Russian or some similar language. Perhaps they were Ukrainian.

John fixed salmon again in the crockpot with an orange juice marinade. It was tender and delicious. I’ve got one more week before my blood tests to continue to eat well. No burgers or pizzas!

While we ate dinner, Toby went to his crate to lounge. He has two other dog beds, two sofas, and our bed to choose from, but he chose his crate. This is the third and longest self-crating we’ve seen (at least 30 minutes). I took him a treat to let him know this was a good thing. I think he’s worn out from daycare this morning.

Last walk of the day, under pretty clouds.

Miles walked: 9.8
Miles biked: 5.90
