“Must Love Dogs” welcome mat at K9 Adventures
Toby played with Wrigley the pit bull while at daycare today. Thankfully, Toby came home with only a few superficial wounds, unlike the last visit. He was playing so hard that the attendants had to try several times to get him to pee while outside. Toby didn’t want to lose a second of playtime.
We also learned that he has played in the same room as Tracker, his Petsmart classmate, during previous visits. That explains why Toby is so anxious to play at training, lately. Tracker is the dog Toby lunged at last week. It looked aggressive, but now I think he just wanted to play and quit all that education crap. They play with lots of enthusiasm at K9 Adventures. I’m looking forward to when the video goes live, so we can see him play from home. Maybe April? I’ll be sure to share the link.
We dropped Toby off at 9:00 after a neighborhood walk. Then we headed to the causeway to walk. It was a beautiful day, temperature in the mid 70s for our walk. The high for the day was 82 degrees.
There were lots of clouds, but still plenty of blue sky.
The winds were light on the causeway but picked up later in the day (15 mph).
After picking up Toby, John and Toby took a nap while I headed to Weaver Park to exercise. On the way home, I met John on his bike and turned around so we could ride downtown and check out the May lodging location for my parents and sister.
They’re renting a condo across the street from Pioneer Park (pictured above).
The park had a sign in support of Ukraine.
The condo is above Stirling Wine on Main Street. The stairs are on the outside to the right. Terrific location and it gets great reviews from previous guests. It looks like there are two units upstairs.
Flanagan’s Pub (center above) is on the left of the condo.
This outdoor sitting area belongs to the wine shop.
It’s a cute hole in the wall, reminiscent of Duval Street in Key West.
The Dunedin Smokehouse (see umbrellas above) is next to Flanagan’s. Next to the Smokehouse are a couple of boutique clothing and gift shops. Then The Living Room restaurant and then Pisces. In the next block is Hot Dogs on Main and a cool restaurant beside Seeds. In the next block are Clear Sky and Southern BBQ. Across the street is The Wild Irish Rose, featured in a recent movie shot in Dunedin. Towards town is Pan y Vio, Trina’s Mexican Restaurant, Al Fresco’s, Crown and Bill, Cara Cara, Olde Bay Cafe, and more. To the north are Sandpiper, Pearly’s, Carvor’s, and several breweries, Eli’s BBQ, and Happy’s Bayou Bites.
Coastal Real Estate is on the west side of the condo. It’s the #1 reality in Dunedin. The center part of the mural above is repainted for every holiday. Last time we were here it was Valentines. Now it’s St. Patrick’s Day.
The only possible downside is that parking is on the street, but it’s free. If there’s a festival you’ll have to move your car to one of the nearby public lots. The festival will be at your doorstep. You really wouldn’t even need a car at this condo. Nature’s Patch grocery store is only two blocks away.
Dude checking out mural. (That’s my second new shirt from Beall’s.)
Late afternoon Toby walk.
Toby curled up to help me finish this blog.
Today’s bike routes downtown, twice.
Miles walked: 10
Miles biked: 11.70
