Wednesday

We saw some interesting birds on our travels today.

We first walked Toby around the neighborhood. Then we put him in his crate and took the golf cart to Stirling Park and walked the Pinellas Trail north to the Dunedin Causeway Trail. We walked all the way to Honeymoon Island and back.

The temperature was in the upper 70s, and it was muggy, cloudy, and windy. It's the first day that felt like summer.

The high temperature was 85 degrees.

The skies cleared in the afternoon and the humidity lessened. It turned out to be a pretty day.

I made it to Weaver Park to exercise. I rode my bike.

This is Paloma Lake near the Pinellas Trail, about half way between our house and downtown. We took the cart downtown, with Toby of course, to explore. We were looking for a place to park near Weaver. There's a Pinellas Trail parking lot near the lake above. It's only a block to Weaver.

Our lawncare service and fertilizer service came today. Of course, that just gave us an excuse to go to Lake Saundra several times for Toby (to keep his feet off the chemicals in our yard until it's dry).

We both practiced some training commands on our walks to keep them fresh.

I was biking home from Weaver Park and saw three colorful kayakers in Cedar Creek above going east, but by the time I could turn around and take their picture, they were out of sight.

Curlew Creek looking west.

The most interesting thing that happened today and why this blog is scattered and late happened at noon. We had an appointment at the home of a potential doggie daycare. It was not a licensed place. John knew the husband so we thought it was worth investigating.

The wife met Toby and fed him a treat and he nipped her finger. She told us he needed training and recommended Petsmart. We kept our mouths shut and observed her interactions with Toby. She was kind, but we decided it wasn't the right fit for us. Toby did great with their dog. I was very proud of how he handled himself, except for the nipping. He did destroy a couple of toys while we were being interviewed.

Our next daycare possibility is very exciting to us because it's located downtown across from Pioneer Park, on Main and Douglas. The thought of taking Toby to daycare and picking him up in the golf cart sounds very appealing. We are going to go check it out tomorrow. It would be great to be able to stay in our Dunedin bubble and not have to get on Highway 19 and use the car. I have a hunch it might be expensive and exclusive, but we'll give it a shot. It's called Posh.
