We had another hot day today, about 90 degrees. The wind was about 10 mph most of the day. We drank lots of water on our walks and rides. We rode our bikes to the causeway and walked to the park entrance.
John got these shots of a tortoise at Lake Saundra, as we were preparing Toby for his training lesson today.
We struggled as usual with Toby in training. He's much more responsive when using treats, but our trainer is trying to get us to ween him off of them. She was encouraging and gave us some things to try this week. We are usually so glad that training is over that we forget about it until the next Sunday night when we realize we haven't practiced as much as we meant to. He's really good at the every day things, like walking nicely on a leash, sitting, coming when called, waiting, leave it commands. He struggles with auto-sitting when we stop walking, doing a series of commands without treats, settling without treats, and letting others pet him.
After dinner, we made a quick bike run to Publix to pick up a few things, mainly milk for cereal in the morning.
We sent in our new home insurance application and the check. It's a huge relief to have that taken care of. We'll feel even better when we get our half year refund from our current insurer.
