After being surrounded by storms this afternoon, it finally rained. We even turned on the sprinklers we were so confident it would pass us by. Our grass really needed the water, although the picture above does not show it.
Our neighbor gave us some freeze-dried chicken manure for our flowers and fruit trees. I think it had an effect. We've never had this many blooms on the bird of paradise or hydrangeas.

After lunch, I went to the gym. It was a lot easier than walking this morning.
John rode down at the end of my workout, and we rode back home together.
There was a nice breeze this afternoon.
This morning's walk was at 8:30, an hour early. We were trying to beat the heat. It didn't work. It was such a struggle. There was very little breeze, especially after the tidal bridge. The heat index was 104 degrees, although the temperature was in the low 90s. We did get to see the sidewalk progress, but it's not open to be walked on yet.
There were lots of clouds, but it didn't help very much.
We stuck our heads under the shower and poured a bottle of cold water-fountain water over our heads. I woke up synapses that I didn't know I had. Selfies with the two of us are so weird.
We were able to get Toby’s last walk in, between showers.
Miles walked: 8.3
Miles biked: 11.2
