Thursday

We were lucky that the wind was blowing this morning. That 11 mph breeze made this morning's causeway walk relatively easy. It was 84 degrees, 74% humidity.

It was a good day to go sailing.

Or just hang out in a sailboat.

After lunch, John and I rode our bikes downtown and then John dropped me off at the Weaver Park outdoor gym.

The temperature got up to 89 degrees, but the strong breeze continued.

This was my view from the sit-up incline bench.

Lots of shade. I had my pick of machine.

The Dunedin Fitness Coordinator came by to remove some stickers off of the posts of one of the machines. I was impressed. He said he comes by every two weeks to inspect everything and order replacements when needed. They really do stay on top of things.

This tree was donated by the former major, Tom Anderson, who lives five houses down from us. He became mayor after he retired, serving from 1994-2002. After that, he became a legislator in the Florida House until 2010.

John got these bird pictures from Lake Saundra on one of our afternoon walks.

This flag celebrates Juneteenth, commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans in 1865.

My black eye looks worse today, but it's healing.

Toby did great today. He's getting into a down without treats. He's getting at least one of his two meals by hand to help him focus on us. We bought a tin of sardines to use for training this weekend because of the predicted rain. We plan to use them to train him to get into his crate. Currently, he'll get in there if you give him an initial push off of the sofa, but I'd like for him to do it all on his own. Our trainer says that the sardines are powerful incentives, even if they are smelly and slimy. We'll see. We hope to avoid bombing in training next Monday.

Miles walked: 10.1
Miles biked: 13.31
