Tuesday

I hand fed Toby his breakfast and dinner. He earned it with sit, down, stand, wait, and come. He also has to get into a down when leaving or entering the house. No treats. I'm determined he's going to improve. Yesterday's dog training was just awful. He protested the first couple of times, but now he’s getting it.

We took Toby to Highlander Park in the late afternoon to walk in the shade. He took several breaks.

It's really tough to get a good selfie in the go cart while it's in motion. This is the best I could do.

After lunch we went in the cart to Lake Saundra. Toby was fascinated with the birds.

Blue heron

A great white egret in the foreground and a snake bird sticking his head out of the water beyond the blue heron.

Toby enjoyed them all.

Some ducks and ibises.

A couple of ibises in the trees.

John in the distance.

Toby looking at John who's sitting on the park bench looking at the birds.

John thinks this might be a ring tailed hawk.

John rode downtown with me and then dropped me off at Weaver Park to exercise. It was an easy workout 🏋🏻‍♀️.

After our morning causeway walk, we came home and hooked up the bike trailer and headed to Publix to shop. We loaded down the trailer with BOGOs.

We moved up our schedule this morning by walking Toby at 6:45 and leaving for the causeway at 7:15. We finished at 9:00 instead of the usual 11:00. The heat was much less intense. It was 75 degrees and the humidity was 47 percent. The breeze was about 7 mph.

Last walk of the day. The sun is setting over the golf course. John took this shot. It looks like the course is on fire.
Today's routes to the causeway, Publix, downtown, and Weaver Park

We are watching a tela novela on Netflix, called “The House of Flowers.” It’s like a soap opera set in Mexico. It’s funny and light, but poignant at times.

Miles walked: 10.3
