Thursday

Sunrise on Fairway

Sunrise on Main

The forecast called for rain around 11:30 this morning. We rode our bikes to the causeway and walked. There was zero wind, but good cloud cover. Thunderstorms were active just off shore, but they weren’t moving. We walked towards them until we got chicken and turned to go back. We made it to the tidal bridge before we turned around.

We rode up to the garage and learned we had lost power. Without the garage door access, we had to rely on our lockbox to get in. Just as we went inside, it started to rain. It rained until 3:00, so my Weaver Park exercise got postponed until Friday. The power came back on after an hour or so. I reset the clocks, sprinkler, and outdoor lights that are all on a timer.

At 3:00, the temperature was 75 degrees, so we took a couple of long walks in the neighborhood, one with Toby and one without. It was great to be able to walk without sweating.

We’re thinking about getting an electric lawn mower and cutting our own grass. We really like not having to mess with the lawn, but I think we could do a better job. The lawn mower would pay for itself in three months. But it means we’d have to do the trimming, edging, and pruning too. Also we’d have to sweep the clippings from the street, sidewalk, and driveway. Something to think about as I move in to year three of retirement.

Miles walked: 12.7
Miles biked: 5.01
