When you're retired, you're always glad when the weekends and holidays are over, because everyone has to go back to work and the world is left for those of us who aren't working. Walking, riding, exercising are our jobs, and it's easier to do without the masses of people.
It was 82 degrees by the time we made it to the causeway, and the breeze was blowing at 6 mph, not much, but enough to keep from getting overheated.
We got held up at the draw bridge, which is always welcomed because it gives you a chance to catch your breath and relax.

We had smoked chicken sandwiches from our neighbor's gift for lunch, and a big ole fruit bowl. After lunch, I rode my bike down to Weaver Park to exercise. This morning, rain was predicted for most of the afternoon. But at noon, no rain was predicted. So at 2:00, John texted that it was raining at home. It was sunny at the gym. But at 2:30, a thunderstorm moved through, interrupting my workout. I sought shelter at the nearby picnic shelter, along with a few other bikers who got caught. After 30 minutes, the sun was shining again and I resumed my workout. In Florida's rainy season, it can rain at any moment without warning on any day, regardless of the forecast.
We had leftover eggplant paradise for dinner, with avocados on top. From now on, avocados go with every meal!
